Seven Sections

This Bible reading plan aims to switch things up in your reading by having a different section of the Bible to read each day.  It breaks the Bible up into seven sections: Epistles, The Law, History, Psalms, Poetry, Prophecy, and Gospel.  The obvious advantage to this is that you won’t get bogged down for a solid month in a section that you may not particularly enjoy such as the stretch of the Bible that contains Leviticus/Numbers/Deuteronomy or the book of Jeremiah.  This helps to avoid the discouragement that some people get when they read the same thing day after day.

Because this is a weekly plan things will be listed by week.  Every third month will contain a fifth week.  This won’t necessarily line up with the calendar but it helps keep things close to balanced throughout the year.

For your convenience, links are provided for the biblical passages as well as sermons, Bible studies, and commentaries on various passages that you are reading.

I’ve been following your plan since January 1. It’s been great! In March I was pretty sick and missed most of the readings, but by doubling up I caught up by the end of April.
